• How do I get started?

    • Now that you are ready to get started, the next step is to contact me to schedule your free 15 minute phone consultation. This is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and deciding if I will be a good fit for you or your adolescent, as well as to discuss what type of service you are seeking. This is a great time to ask me about the process of therapy and my approach, and I will ask you questions about your needs and goals. We will also talk about scheduling and availability. During the consultation, if we decide that this would not be the appropriate fit, I can provide you with information for other referrals in the community if needed.

  • Do you accept Insurance?

    • I have very thoughtfully made a decision not to accept insurance. I am considered an out-of-network provider, and I am able to provide a monthly statement (“superbill”) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you plan to do this, I suggest that you contact your insurance company up front to learn about your out-of-network benefits for mental health services.

  • Do you provide In Person or Virtual Counseling?

    • I provide in-person counseling as the primary format for services. I can offer limited virtual appointments to in-person clients as a courtesy when needed and appropriate. I do not provide virtual tele-health appointments as the primary and ongoing format for counseling.

  • What are your rates and payment policy?

    • My rate for 50 minute sessions is $150, and 80 minute sessions are $240. For Intensive Therapy Retreats, I will provide that information during our initial consultation. For therapists interested in supervision or consultation, please reach out to discuss rates. Payment is expected at the time of service, and I accept credit card, debit card, and HSA/FSA. I can also accept cash or check, as long as a credit/debit card is also on file.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    • When you schedule an appointment, I reserve that time for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, it is helpful when you do so as early as possible, and up to 24 hours in advance. Missed appointments will be billed for the full appointment, if not canceled more than 24 hours in advance (except when due to a medical emergency or illness). Clients with a pattern of frequent canceled or missed appointments may be referred elsewhere.

  • What is EMDR?

    • Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an evidence-based therapeutic approach to healing from trauma or other upsetting life events. This can include abuse, accidents, experiences of racism and culturally-based traumas, recent events, and difficult early life experiences. I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, and have completed extensive training in providing EMDR-based therapy intensives, providing EMDR to children & adolescents, utilizing EMDR to heal from early childhood and pre-verbal trauma, the Flash Technique, and incorporating expressive arts into EMDR practice. You can learn more about EMDR at emdria.org .

  • What is a Good Faith Estimate?

    • According to the No Surprises Act of 2022, you have a right to request from me a Good Faith Estimate (GFE), if you are uninsured or a self-pay client. This Act was designed to protect individuals from surprise billing, and is an estimate of expected medical costs.
